Breakfast
The Aster House Apts. always has great coffees and decaf, herbal, green and black teas, hot chocolate and homemade biscotti in your pantry. And for bringing home your own fare, there is a 24-hour Dominick's grocery just one block away, Whole Foods one mile away, and many terrific breakfast spots within a few blocks, including one open 24/7.

So whether you choose to sleep late or rise early for a jog by the lake, you may dine at your convenience in either the formal dining room or the eat-in kitchen of Elizabeth's Place, or the charming dining nook of Alice's Annex, but always on fine china and glassware.

Telephone
Both units have private lines with two telephones and an answering machine. The direct number for Elizabeth's Place is 773.883.1020, and for Alice's Annex it is 773.883.0945. Local calls (up to 15 miles) are included with your stay; long distance calls may be charged to your phone card or placed collect.

Business Services
We can send faxes for you, do black and white or color photocopies and print your boarding passes. FedEx Kinko's Copy Center is two blocks away. Free high-speed Internet access and secure Wifi are included with your visit.

Internet Access
We offer free high-speed DSL Internet access via a wireless network (802.11b/g), but you must provide your own wireless network card and be able to configure it. Your card must be able to work with WiFi Protected Access (WPA) security. If you don't have a wireless card, you may purchase one nearby. Even though we take reasonable security precautions with our network configuration, you would be using our network at your own risk. We recommend the use of personal firewall software and installing the latest security updates for your operating system, as well as using an up-to-date anti-virus program and turning off file-sharing capabilities.

Parking
A car is not necessary at The Aster House Apts. as so many attractions are just a few blocks away, and the subway/el, frequent taxicabs \ and several buses to everywhere else are only 1/2 to 2 blocks from here. However, if you do have your vehicle with you for short-term visits, we can offer a daily street parking permit for one car per party, free of charge.

Verandah and Back Yard
Leisure time may be spent rocking on the covered verandah while surveying the birds, wild rabbits and squirrels enjoying our yard, perhaps while sipping a late afternoon cup of tea. The yard is a profusion of color most seasons of the year, with both annuals and perennials amidst the pachysandra and shade trees.

Roof Deck
This spacious area above the garage is partly shaded by a mature mulberry tree. There is a large umbrella table, chaise, chairs and grill as well as plenty of space for lounging in the sun. In the evenings, decorative lights may be lit for enjoying a late night drink al fresco.

Catering and Cooking Lessons
If you are visiting Elizabeth's Place, Joseph Sochor, a local chef and director of the Heat and Spice Cooking School, can arrange private dinners or exotic cooking classes for six to twelve guests. Please contact us for menus and lesson plans, or contact Joe directly at 773-742-2331 or .

Girls' Getaway
For a minimum of four women, we'll provide a Girls' Getaway Goodie Bag containing fun items like microwave popcorn, chocolates (of course), perfumes, makeup, red nail polish, chick flick videos, discounts to nearby shops and pizza deliveries and a visit by a make-up specialist to give everyone a makeover or beauty treatment. Cost: $32/four guests and $7 for each additional guest. Must be booked at least 24 hours in advance of arrival.

Miscellaneous Services
