Take Exit 47A / FULLERTON Avenue and go about one mile east. Turn left at a light onto SHEFFIELD St. Go two short blocks and turn left at the stop sign onto Altgeld Street. Aster House is number 1020, the fifth house on your right. Ring the top bell, Ramer/Stringham.

From LAKE SHORE DRIVE: Exit at FULLERTON, go about one mile west. Just after you pass under the el tracks, make a right at the light onto SHEFFIELD. Go two short blocks, then left at the stop sign onto Aster Street. We're the fifth building on your right. Ring the top bell, Ramer.

Getting Here by Subway / El:
We are one block from the FULLERTON El stop - a main station in Chicago serviced by the RED, BROWN and PURPLE lines. Adult fares are $2 each way, anywhere. For more information see the CTA web site.

From O'Hare Airport: The only subway at O'Hare is the BLUE Line Train to the City. Ride for about 40 minutes towards Chicago. Exit downtown at WASHINGTON ST. Transfer (free) downstairs to the RED Line north towards HOWARD. In about ten minutes, exit at FULLERTON AV. You're now at the corner of Fullerton, facing SHEFFIELD. Turn right onto SHEFFIELD ST. Walk one block to the stop sign at Aster ST; turn left. We're the fifth building on your right, #1020. Ring the top bell, Ramer.

From Midway Airport: The only subway at Midway is the ORANGE Line Train to the City. Ride for about 40 minutes towards Chicago. Exit downtown at CLARK/ LAKE ST. Transfer (free) to the RED Line north to HOWARD or the BROWN line north to Kimball. In about six minutes, exit at FULLERTON AV. You're now standing at the corner of Fullerton, facing SHEFFIELD. Turn right onto SHEFFIELD ST. Walk one block to the stop sign, turn left onto ALTGELD ST. The Aster House Apts. is number 1020, the fifth building on your right, #1020. Ring the top bell, Ramer/Stringham.

Local Transportation
The Aster House Apts. is just one block from a main El / subway stop with 24-hour security for the Red Line (Ravenswood), Brown Line (Kimball), or Purple Line (Evanston) subways. (It's a six-minute ride to downtown's "Loop.")  For a more leisurely sightseeing trip, we are three doors from one bus line and one block from another, all with easy transfers. Enterprise Car Rental is four blocks north on Sheffield; they'll even pick you up. The number is 773-880-5001. And in the summer months, a free trolley will take you around the neighborhood and over to the Lincoln Park Zoo, Botanical Garden, Chicago Historical Center, the beach and nearby museums.
